Scholar’s anniversary

черняев-3On November 10, 2015 falls 70-year anniversary of a famous Russian scholar, author of more than 100 scientific works and publications of documents on the political history of Russia and the history of the Russian emigration of 1900-s-1930-s, leading research fellow of St.Peterburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Cand. of Sc. in History Vladimir Yurievich Chernyaev.
He has been working in the institute for about 45 years, and for more than 30 of them he performs the duties of scientific secretary of the department. He also actively participates in all-institute scientific activities being a member of the scientific council and participating in the editorial board of Saint Petersburg historical journal (Peterburgskii istoricheskii zhurnal).
Vladimir Yurievich nowadays is a leading researcher of the institute not only by his rank, but also due to his status in the domestic historical science as an author of detailed works and thorough documental publications on the history of social campaigns, political parties, reforms and revolutions in Russia, Civil War and post-revolutionary emigration and opposition to the Communists regime.
Colleagues highly appreciate him for his human qualities such as responsibility and adherence to principles, exactingness and benevolence, modesty and devotion to both historical science and the institute.
